2008年1月の流行開始以来の、フランス国内の麻疹患者は22000人を超え、2011年の11ヶ月間だけで、15000人以上が麻疹に感染した。夏以降は大幅な減少を確認しており、the end of the 3rd wave of the measles epidemic と考えられる。15000人中、 16 experienced neurological complications, 649 contracted severe pneumonia, and 6 French residents died from the disease.

死亡した2人を含む乳児4人が、粉ミルクと関係することのあるまれな細菌に感染した事例で、これらの間に関連性はなく、粉ミルクの使用を続けても問題はないとの見解が、2つの政府機関から30日に発表された。the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 及び the Food and Drug Administration が、様々な種類の粉ミルクやnursing waterと呼ばれる希釈用水を検査したが、_Cronobacter sakazakii_ 菌の混入は確認されなかった。感染したミズーリ Missouri 州の3人のうちの1人と Florida フロリダ州の1人が、自然界や麦、イネなどの植物に存在する _Cronobacter_ によって死亡した。この菌はこれまでに、dried milk and powdered formula.から検出されたことがあった....

[Epub ahead of print])によると、皮膚及び内臓リーシュマニア症のいずれに関しても、小児の感染リスクが高いことが示されている。もう1件の最近の研究では、 the arid zones (乾燥地帯) から the semi-arid areas への感染拡大が報告されており、特に the Soummam valley.で顕著とされている。分離される菌は全て_L. major_ MON-25 であり、保有宿主 the reservoir host は、スナネズミ the sand rat (_Psammomys obesus_) であることが、この地域で初めて確認された (Spread of Leishmania major to the north of Algeria.
