Minnesota officials report tetanus case in unvaccinated child in 2024
2024年のワクチンを接種していない10歳未満の小児の破傷風の１例 a case of tetanus について，ミネソタ州保健当局 The Minnesota Department of Health が報告した。
頚部の痛みと硬直 stiffness があり，自力で呼吸できなくなり，気管内挿管の上，集中治療室 the intensive care unit (ICU) に入院した。創傷は確認できず no visible wounds，保護者の知る限り，最近けがをして治ったことはない not aware of any recently healed wounds。
破傷風は除外診断で，患児はワクチンを接種していなかったため，他の原因を検索しつつ，ただちに破傷風ワクチンと免疫グロブリンが接種された。1か月間入院した後，リハビリ部門に移された。
Approximately 11% of reported cases of tetanus are fatal（死亡する）。
The tetanus vaccination is usually combined with diphtheria and/or pertussis (DTaP, DT, Tdap, or Td).
- Children should get 5 doses of the DTaP vaccine before age 7; these are usually given at 2, 4, 6, and 15-18 months of age and 4-6 years of age.
- Tdap is given to children at 11-12 years of age.

破傷風トキソイド tetanus toxoid はしばしば単独で追加接種される used alone for boosters が，ジフテリアの追加免疫も付与される Td の使用がより適切 more appropriate である。

NCDC stated that deaths reported accounted for a case fatality rate (CFR) of 19.7%, which is higher than the CFR for the same period in 2024 (17.8%).

群馬県前橋市は4日、同市荒牧町の飲食店で2月17日夜に食事をした20代の男女4人が下痢や発熱、腹痛などを訴え、抽出して調べた3人の便のうち、2人からカンピロバクター Campylobacter が検出されたと発表した。市は同店が提供した食事による食中毒と断定。食品衛生法に基づき、同店を6日までの3日間、営業停止とした。
市衛生検査課は、加熱が不十分な鶏肉料理が原因だったと推定。4人は鶏ユッケや唐揚げ、鍋などを食べた二つのグループ計20人の一部で、1人は一時入院していたが、現在はいずれも回復している。
