ブラジルは黄熱 yellow fever が発生する 12月から 5月までの時期 the seasonal period に入っている。従来からの黄熱感染伝搬地域から，これまで感染がないと考えられていた大西洋沿岸の南東部にも感染が拡がった結果，2 waves of transmission が生じた (Figure 1)； 1つは during the 2016-2017 seasonal period, with 778 human cases, including 262 deaths，もう 1つは during the 2017-2018 seasonal period, with 1376 human cases, including 483 deaths だった。
From December 2018 through January 2019 の時期，361 confirmed human cases, including 8 deaths in 11 municipalities of 2 states of Brazil が報告。In the southern part of Sao Paulo state, 7 municipalities: El dorado (16 cases), Jacupiranga (1 case), Iporanga (7 cases), Cananeia (3 cases), Cajati (2), Pariquera-Açu (1), and Sete Barras (1) reported confirmed cases. 2018年11月の初報告以来，the department of Mayotte ではリフトバレー熱 Rift Valley fever (RVF) の感染循環が続いている。今日までに 31 human cases of RVF が the CHM laboratory から the ARS Indian Ocean に報告された。
疫学状況
As of 6 Feb 2019, 31 [human] cases of RVF were reported to the monitoring and health emergency platform of the ARS OI (CVAGS) of Mayotte by the CHM laboratory.

- In the reporting week 5 (28 Jan-3 Feb 2019) 68 new confirmed cases were reported from Edo (20), Ondo (22), Ebonyi (7), Bauchi (4), Plateau (4), Nasarawa (1), Taraba (3), Benue (1), Kaduna (1), Kwara (1), Oyo (2), Delta (1), and Rivers (1) states, with 14 new deaths in Edo (2), Ondo (1), Rivers (1) Plateau (2), Oyo (1), Ebonyi (4 ), Enugu (1), Taraba (1), and Nasarawa (1).
- From [Jan ?] 1-3 Feb 2019, a total of 731 suspected cases have been reported from 19 states. Of these, 275 were confirmed positive, 3 probable, and 453 negative (not a case).
- Since the onset of the 2019 outbreak, there have been 57 deaths in confirmed cases. Case fatality rate in confirmed cases is 20.7%
- 19 states (Edo, Ondo, Bauchi, Nasarawa, Ebonyi, Plateau, Taraba, FCT [Federal Capital Territory], Adamawa, Gombe, Kaduna, Kwara, Benue, Rivers, Kogi, Enugu, Imo, Delta, and Oyo) have recorded at least one confirmed case across 51 local government areas [LGA] -- Figure 1.
