主な結論として
1. ほぼすべての国民がこの新型ウイルスに免疫がないカナダで H3N2v が確認されていない
2. 年齢によって H3N2v seroprotection にかなりの差が認められ、HI [hemagglutination inhibition] antibody titre が 1:40 以上である割合が、5歳未満では 0%、14歳以下と 40歳以上では 20%未満であるのに対し、14歳から 40歳までの teens and adults の半数で H3N2v seroprotection が認められた。
H3N2v antibody titres and the proportion seroprotected が最も高かったのは adults 20-29 years of age だった。
3. ancestral and contemporary human influenza virus strains (従来のインフルエンザウイルスと現在のウイルス?）に対する age-specific seroprotection の比較により、小児期の関連ウイルスによる強力なプライミング (先行感染) が前提になっていると考えられる、 H3N2v に対する交差反応性抗体の年齢に関連したパターンの説明が可能な、cohort effect が示唆された。
4. microneutralisation assay による評価 Varying threshold titres and subset assessment でも、同様の傾向 similar age-related patterns が示された。
5. ここ最近のインフルエンザワクチン Recent seasonal trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine (2010-11 or 2011-12) 接種による H3N2v seroprotection の有意な改善は認められていない (seroconverted to H3N2v は、接種された小児、若年性人、高齢者の15％未満)
