香港の保健当局 The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) は 6日、地域内で確定診断された日本脳炎患者 1名 a local confirmed case of Japanese encephalitis (JE) [virus infection] の調査を開始した。生来健康であった 36歳のこの男性患者は、7月30日に救急室 the Accident & Emergency Department (AED) of Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) を受診した。この男性は 8月 1日に会話内容の混乱 confused speech とけいれんを発症し再び救急室を受診した。入院後、現在は解熱し状態は安定している。男性の脳脊髄液と血清検体の検査で、日本脳炎ウイルスに対する抗体が陽性となった。
