"今回の調査で，カザフスタンには，狂犬病による経済的，衛生上の影響 a substantial economic cost and health impact of rabies があることが判明した。これは現在行われている狂犬病対策の改善により軽減可能と考えられる ... an upper middle-income country であるカザフスタンにおいて，ヒトの狂犬病は深刻な公衆衛生の脅威となっている。過去のデータによると，between 2007 and 2011 の間に 44例，年平均 9例の狂犬病患者 cases of human rabies が報告されている。うち 40例がイヌとの接触，4例がネコ，1例がキツネによる。イヌ咬傷は，2010年には人口 100万対 3700件，2011年には同 4130件が報告され，暴露後接種数 Post exposure prophylaxis は，57 000 individuals in 2009, 59 000 in 2010 and 67 000 in 2011となっている。他の常在国同様，カザフスタン国内で動物の狂犬病感染が確認されている。飼い犬やネコ，農業用家畜に対するワクチン接種プログラムが存在し，限定的ながらキツネに対する the distribution of vaccine impregnated baits によるワクチン計画もある。しかし，動物での発生数の減少は見られず，今回の調査の目的は，国内の動物における狂犬病の地理的分布を明らかにし，対策の評価を行うことである ... ." -

- Influenza A(H1N2)v viruses
オハイオ Ohio 州で，One new laboratory-confirmed human infection with influenza A(H1N2)v viruses が確認された。発症前に農業イベントでブタとの接触のあった小児だった。入院を必要とせず完治し，ヒトからヒトへの感染も確認されていない。ワクチン株のウイルス the existing candidate vaccine virus と同じで，以前にも確認されている A(H1N2)v viruses と同じ特徴をもつウイルスだった。
- Influenza A(H3N2)v viruses
9月27日以来，全米各州で 41 human infections with influenza A(H3N2)v viruses が確認されている。いずれの患者も，発症前に農業フェアでのブタとの接触が確認されている。2例が入院となったが快復し，人からヒトへの感染は確認されていない。ワクチンと同じで，以前にも確認されている A(H3N2)v viruses と同じ特徴を有するウイルスだった。報告されるようになった 2005年以降 462 human infections with influenza A(H3N2)v viruses が the US CDC に報告されており，2017年は 59 例が発生している。
