フランス国内で，いずれも 3歳未満の乳幼児 2人が，_Escherichia coli_ O26 による汚染のあるチーズ raw milk cheese を食べ発病し，溶血性尿毒症症候群 hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) を併発した。
Fromagere d'Eteaux 社が製造する raw milk reblochon -- a type of cheese -- を食べており，同社は，2017年に発生したサルモネラ感染症アウトブレイクの原因となった乳児用粉ミルクを製造した Lactalis company の，the Lactalis group に属している。同アウトブレイクでは，フランスで 38人，スペインで 2人，ギリシャで 1人の乳児が罹患した。
