North West の 54歳男性が，クリミア-コンゴ出血熱の患者 case of Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) と確認された。the Klerksdorp Tshepong hospital complex で治療を受けており，意識があり容態は安定しているとされている。between Ventersdorp and Coligny in the North West province の農場に住むこの患者は，クリミア-コンゴ出血熱のため，the Klerksorp Hospital HID (highly infectious disease) unit に入院となった," と同病院関係者が明らかにした。4月26日に近隣の農場を訪れた後に頭部のダニに気づき，指でこれを潰した 2日後から頭痛が始まり，痛み止めを使用しても繰り返し痛みがあったと説明されている。同 30日に皮膚の発疹が出現し，Potchefstroom の私立病院に入院し血液検査を受けた後，退院となったが，血液検査で異常低値が認められたためふたたび入院となり，the North West provincial HID unit at Klerksdorp Hospital に搬送された。

2019年2月，the Mayotte hospital laboratory において，63人の患者が PCR 検査でリフトバレー熱 cases of Rift Valley fever と診断された。初めての患者 5例が確認されたのは 2018年11月の同検査室で，the Reunion Reference Center で確定診断が行われた。36 cases について The vector control center and the health emergency unit of the ARS OI [The Indian Ocean Health Agency] で解析が行われ: 21例に動物との直接の接触があり，5 others は自宅近くに動物がいた; the last 5 には動物との接触が確認できなかった。15 cases にミルク raw or curdled milk の摂取があった。21 patients の住居が the communes of west-central Mayotte にあった。the 63 confirmed cases の平均年齢は 38 years (range, 10 to 74 years) で 16% 以下であり，男女比が 4だった。29 patients は rural or semi-urban dwellings に住んでおり，9 人は小屋 traditional huts を住まいとしていた。24例に頭痛，19例に関節痛，17例に筋肉痛，6例に眼窩後部痛，6例に嘔気・嘔吐の症状が見られた。昆虫学的調査 entomological survey で several mosquito species, especially _Culex_, _Aedes_, _Anopheles_ and _Mansonia_ が確認されている。ウシや小型反芻動物を飼育し流産があった，1～6頭の感染が確認された 33のアウトブレイクの発生農場から検体が採取された。
