2020年3月3日，エチオピア公衆衛生研究所 the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) は 3例の黄熱疑い患者 suspected yellow fever cases in Ener Enor woreda [3rd level administrative districts], Gurage zone, Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region (SNNPR) について報告した。これら 3例は，a rural kebele [最小自治体単位] 在住の同一家族（両親と息子）であった。 the 3 samples のうち，2件が the national level on reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction 検査で陽性となり，3月28日に確認検査 plaque reduction neutralization testing at the regional reference laboratory, Uganda Viral Research Institute (UVRI) で確定診断された。検査陽性となった結果を受けて行われた調査により 4月4日時点で，Ener Enor woreda の 6 kebele から 合計 85例 (2 confirmed cases, 6 presumptive positive cases, and 77 suspected cases) が報告されており，うち 54 suspected cases が Wedesha kebele から報告されている。他の 31例が報告されたのは 4 kebele: Doba, Shimorow, Kend, and Terbe であった。疑い例からの検体について，現在国内の検査機関で検査が行われている。a single kebele (Wedesha) で 4例の死亡が記録されており，全体の致死率は 4.7% である。複数の住居周辺でボウフラ larvae of suspected _Aedes_ mosquitos が発見されている。
