Emerging Infectious Diseases 掲載の新たな研究で，ネコとヒトとの間の SARS-CoV-2 ウイルス感染伝播が疑われる症例について調べられている。COVID-19 は中国武漢の生きた動物を売る市場との関連があるとされ，人獣共通感染症の可能性がある。世界各国でネコ，イヌ，ミンク，その他の動物の感染も報告されている。
