Results

2019年，全世界で発生した狂犬病 the incident cases of rabies worldwide は 14 075.51 ，死者数は 13 743.44 で，1990年より減少していた。

With the improvement of the socio-demographic index (SDI), the incident cases, the number of deaths, age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR) and death rate (ASDR), and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) of rabies all showed downward trends. Adolescents and adults under the age of 50 represented the majority of rabies cases worldwide.

Conclusions

The global disease burden of rabies had declined over the past 30 years. Furthermore, the disease burden of rabies was closely related to the SDI level.

現行のエボラワクチン Both current Zaire ebolavirus vaccines はともに，another active virus に依存する技術を利用しており，接種対象者も限られている。多くの状況において，Ervebo は 18歳以上のみへの使用に限られており，副反応がある。Johnson & Johnson's regimen は 1歳以上に使用可能だが，8週間をあけて 2回の接種が必要であり，急速な感染拡大がある中での使用に適さない。

Moderna, which is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts は，is close to securing a deal to develop an mRNA vaccine against Ebola and other filoviruses, according to news agency Bloomberg.

the mRNA approach がエボラ対策として有効である可能性を示唆する複数の研究がある。2017年，2 mRNA vaccine formulations が guinea pigs の免疫反応を示した。ワクチンを接種された 10匹のうち，a guinea pig-adapted ebolavirus 感染後に死亡した個体は 0 だった。一方，コントロール群のうち 5匹が 10日以内に死亡した。Moderna とともにこの研究に関わった人物は，動物での有効性が明らかになるには，非ヒト霊長類での約 3年間の研究が必要で，その後にヒトの臨床試験が必要なると説明した
