During 2010-2018 の期間に全米で、3万4 000 suspected cases of AGS が特定されているが、発生地域に関する情報は限られている。
本研究では、2022年以前の全米のほぼすべての検査を行った検査機関 the commercial laboratory に提出された、alpha-gal-specific IgE (sIgE) antibody testing results を解析し、発生地域分布と程度 the geographic distribution and magnitude of this emerging condition を評価した。
