今週初め、チリ初のヒトのスポロトリコーシス感染例 the fungus _Sporothrix brasiliensis_ を、感染症研究・診断センター the Center for Diagnosis and Research of Infectious Diseases of the University of Valparaíso (CDIEI-UV) が確認した。このブラジルの病原体は主にネコに感染するが、ネコからヒトなど他の動物に伝播することがある。最近確認されたこの症例は Concón, in the Valparaíso region 在住の59歳女性で、真菌が原因である皮膚感染症のスポロトリコーシス sporotrichosis と説明されている。ペットのネコを飼育しており、同様の皮膚病変のある近所の他のネコと接触があった。このネコは、獣医師の診察を受け他の合併症のため安楽死処分となった。
