Abstract
ウマ連鎖球菌 _Streptococcus equi_ subspecies _zooepidemicus_ はウマ、ブタ、イヌなどの疾病の原因となる獣医学関連の病原体で、ネコの呼吸器疾患の原因としても確認されている。ヒトの人獣共通感染はまれだが、ウマの世話や未殺菌の動物食品の摂取により、患者が発生する可能性がある。
We describe a case of soft tissue infection（軟部組織感染症）and bacteremia（菌血症） in an elderly patient who had contact with a cat presenting respiratory symptoms and was treated with antibiotics. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first description of cat-to-human transmission of _Streptococcus zooepidemicus_.
