プラセボを含む、北米の18歳以上の約3500人に対する接種で安全性が評価された。最も多くみられた副反応は、頭痛、倦怠感、筋肉痛、関節痛、発熱、嘔気、接種部位の圧痛であった。また多くはないが、日常生活に支障を来したり医療機関の受診を必要とするチクングニア様症状が1.6%に認められ、プラセボ群では認められなかった。さらに、prolonged chikungunya-like adverse reactions が30日以上続いた被接種者があった。添付文書には the vaccine may cause severe or prolonged chikungunya-like adverse reactions. と記載されている。
妊娠女性の分娩時期の（チクングニア）ウイルス血症により、新生児に重大なウイルス感染が生じることが知られている。ワクチン接種後の血液中のワクチン株ウイルスの存在を調べた1件の研究では、接種後1週間以内は多くの被接種者の血液中でワクチン株ウイルスが認められた；接種から14日後には検出されなくなった。
添付文書には、it is not known if the vaccine virus can be transmitted from pregnant individuals to newborns, nor is it known if the vaccine virus can cause any adverse effects in the newborn （新生児への伝播の可能性と、ワクチン株ウイルスによる新生児への影響、については不明）と記載されている。

Following routine bluetongue surveillance, a single cow has tested positive for bluetongue serotype 3 on a premises near Canterbury, Kent. A 10 km [6.2 mi] temporary control zone has been declared around the premises where the animal was kept. Movement restrictions apply to cattle, sheep and other ruminants.
