ペットのイヌによる咬傷の9か月後に，Dong Nai の49歳女性が狂犬病の症状 signs of rabies を発症して死亡した。2月14日，Dong Nai Province's Center for Disease Control がこの狂犬病による死亡例を確認し，Long Thanh district における2025年の2例目の症例となった。
この女性は2024年4月に Phuoc Thai market で3匹の子犬を購入していた。1か月後に攻撃性がみられむやみに咬んでいたイヌに指を噛まれたが，傷が浅かったため消毒のみを行いワクチンを接種しなかった。3匹とも狂犬病ワクチンを接種していなかった。女性を噛んだため，家族がこのイヌを撲殺し，他の2匹もゴム林に捨てていた。
2月9日，女性に頭痛，めまい，嘔気，恐水・風症，易刺激性，叱逆の症状が現れたため，Dong Nai General Hospital 病院を受診し狂犬病と診断 a diagnosis of rabies され，翌10日に死亡した。
