発端となった症例は Kotto 1 - Bomboko village, Buea Health District, South-West Province の住民だった。
2 districts, Buea and Mbongue において，16万5千人を対象にワクチンの緊急一斉接種を計画している。
感染した患者は 61歳男性で，黄熱ワクチンの接種歴はなく，7月27日に発熱，黄疸，腰背部痛の症状を発症した。Buea Health District の医師を受診し，黄熱と診断された。the Institut Pasteur of Yaounde の暫定結果でも黄熱の可能性があるとされており，the regional reference laboratory at the Institut Pasteur in Dakar, Senegal において確定され，他の出血熱の検査は陰性だった ...
