28日に WHO に報告されたサウジアラビアで確認された新型コロナウイルスによる死者に加え、本日 [30日]、2例のヨルダンの死亡例が報告され、検査で確定診断された症例は 9例となった。サウジアラビアから報告のあった最新の症例は 2012年10月に発生したもので、これ以前に確認されていた家族内発生の 2例からの感染例である。ヨルダンの 2例は、2012年4月に発生していた。当時国内で多数の重症肺炎の患者が発生し、ヨルダン保健省から、WHO 協力施設 a WHO Collaborating Centre for Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases (NAMRU - 3) team に支援要請が出されていた。同チームはヨルダンに入り、集団発生の患者から採取した検体の検査を行っていた。4月24日、the NAMRU-3 team から the MOH に対し、全ての検体は既知のウイルス coronaviruses and other respiratory viruses の検査で陰性であったことが報告された。まだ the novel coronavirus の発見前であり、特異的検査は存在していなかった。10月に新型コロナウイルスが発見されたことから、保管されていた検査が MOH Jordan から NAMRU-3 に送付され、11月に NAMRU-3 より confirmed 2 cases of infection with the novel coronavirus の検査結果が伝えられた ... これまでに合計 9 laboratory-confirmed cases of infection with the novel coronavirus が WHO に報告されている - 5 cases (including 3 deaths) from Saudi Arabia, 2 cases from Qatar and 2 cases (both fatal) from Jordan.
