11月初め、ベルギーの 3つのレストランで野生のイノシシ肉を食べた 14人が発病したことが、これまでに明らかになっている。7人で IgG抗体が確認されている。the digestion method を用いて、3人の患者の筋生検が行われ、幼虫 0, 10 and 28 first stage _Trichinella_ larvae が確認された。Multiplex PCR により、_Trichinella spiralis_ に一致する遺伝学的特徴が示された。3軒のレストランの野生のイノシシ肉はジローナ Girona のスペインの業者からのものだった。
