2018年2月以降，ウガンダ国内でくりかえし炭疽感染流行 recurrent outbreaks of anthrax が続いており，4 districts で発生が確認されている。
最新の事例 the latest event は week 20 (week ending 20 May 2018) に西部 Kiruhura District in the western region において，ヒトおよび動物のアウトブレイクとして発生している。2018年5月23日現在，合計 22人の皮膚炭疽患者 human cases of cutaneous anthrax in Engari Sub-county が報告されているが，死者はいない。16か所の農場の合計 35頭のウシが炭疽により死亡したと報告されている。採取された 18件の検体のうち，7 検体が炭疽迅速診断検査 anthrax rapid diagnostic test の陽性が確認されている。Test results of 9 human and 15 animal samples の検査結果が待たれている。

バロチスタン州 Dukki district, Balochistan の生後 18か月の女児が，ポリオウイルス感染と診断されたと，保健当局者 officials of the provincial health department が 28日に取材に答えて明らかにした。2018年，Balochistan 州では 2例目の報告となり，いずれも Dukki district からの報告だった。血液検体の検査でポリオウイルスが確認されたと説明されている。経口ポリオワクチンを接種されていたかどうかは明らかではない。2017年，バロチスタン州内で 3例のポリオが，Quetta and Killa Abdullah districts of the province から報告されている。
