10 107 AES patients のうち，49.2% の患者で病原体が特定され，日本脳炎ウイルス JEV (16%), ツツガムシ病 scrub typhus (16%), and デング熱 DEN (5.2%) が the top 3 agents だった，the DEN-positive cases (359/6892) のうち，7例 (2%) は dengue virus RNA 検査のみが陽性: 1例は血清，6例は脳脊髄液 CSF の検査。
Conclusion
Among the pathogens identified, dengue accounted for 5% of all AES cases and was one of the 3 common etiological agents. These results underscore the importance of including dengue virus in routine testing of AES cases.

下痢性貝食中毒 an outbreak of diarrhectic [diarrhetic, diarrheal] shellfish poisoning (DSP) の発生を受け，漁業当局 The fisheries ministry が市民に対し，Walvis Bay 産のカキとムール貝を食べないよう呼びかけている。貝類衛生プログラムの一環で行われた the Namibian Standards Institution (NSI) におけるカキとムール貝の生物トキシン biotoxins の結果，DSP が確認されたと 11日発表された。サンプルで高濃度 the unusual level of DSP が検出されたと明らかにした。marine biotoxins は加熱調理や冷凍処理によって分解されないと説明されている。汚染された貝類の摂食後およそ 30分以内に，強度の下痢，激しい腹痛，嘔気嘔吐の症状が現われ，約 1日の間症状が続く。死亡例はないが，頻回の激しい下痢により高度の脱水症状となるリスクが高いと述べられている ...
