The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) は 3月31日現在，現在世界中で急速に感染が拡大する新興カンジダの国内感染例 US cases of _Candida auris_ が 613例確認されていると明らかにした。Illinois, New Jersey and New York 各州でそれぞれ, with 156, 106 and 319 cases, respectively と多くの患者が発生しているが，他の 9 other states からも患者が報告されている。さらに 1123 patients 患者が，_C. auris_ を保菌しているが，症状は現れていない状態にあったとしている。3月のわずか 1ヶ月間に 26例増加した。10 Apr [2019] update 発表の時点では 587 cases of _C. auris_ in the country とされていた。_C. auris_ cases は世界中から報告が続いており，その中にはオーストラリア，カナダ，中国，カンボジア，フランス，ドイツ，インドで多数の患者が確認されている。多剤に耐性を示すことが多く，治療は困難とされており，血液感染，創傷感染，耳感染の原因となる。

Mayaro fever
Mayaro fever は，アルボウイルス an arbovirus of the _Alphavirus_ genus, Togavirus family による人獣共通感染症で，_Haemagogus_ mosquitoes 蚊族による媒介が報告されている。ヒトへの感染には，ベクターが生息する多湿森林環境への暴露と関連している。初発症状は非特異的な発熱，頭痛，眼窩後部痛，強い関節痛，光線過敏，発疹，白血球および血小板減少などで，時に軽度の出血傾向が見られることがある。潜伏期間は比較的短く 1から 12日間の範囲で，3－5日間で自然治癒傾向を示すが，関節痛の持続期間については数週間から数ヶ月に及ぶこともある。脳症による死亡例も 1例報告されている。
南北アメリカ の状況
Mayaro virus (MAYV) は 1954年に Trinidad and Tobago で発見されたが，後方視的研究では，1904～1914年にパナマとコロンビアの水路工事中に採取された血清の検体で感染の証拠 evidence of infection by MAYV が確認されている。その後，中南米の，特に the Amazon basin 周辺地域で報告されている。Trinidad and Tobago での発見後，Mayaro fever cases が Brazil (1955), Colombia (1958-1960), Bolivia (1959), Suriname (1964), Peru (1965), the USA (cases imported from Peru and Bolivia, 1997), Ecuador (1997), French Guiana (1998), Venezuela (2000), Mexico (2001), Panama (2010), and Haiti (2015) で報告された。都市部環境での感染伝播を示唆するいくつかの研究結果もあるが，この 10年間に南北アメリカ で発生したアウトブレイクは，rural communities in the Amazon region of Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, and Venezuela の住民の間で起きている ... 保有宿主 The reservoir for MAYV ははっきりしていないが，非人類の霊長類などの脊椎動物でのウイルス分離や高い抗体レベルが報告されている。2015年にハイチで報告された農村部の 8歳児の症例は， デングとの重複感染 a coinfection of dengue and Mayaro と報告されている。2018年，ペルーでは 35 cases of Mayaro fever が報告され，2019年にもペルーの the provinces of Quispicanchis (Cusco region) and La Mar (Ayacucho region) において 2例の感染が確認された。2019年4月26日，エクアドルではデングほかの検査が陰性だった 34検体のうち 5検体の陽性を報告した。これらは，互いに最大で 300km 離れた異なる地域 4 different cantons: Guayaquil (2 cases), Portoviejo (1 case), Santo Domingo (1 case), and Babahoyo (1 case) での発生に一致している

Highlights
- In the reporting week 17 (22-28 Apr 2019), 8 new confirmed cases were reported from 4 states -- Ondo (4), Taraba (1), Plateau (1) and Kebbi (2) -- with one new death in Ondo State.
- From 1 Jan to 28 Apr 2019, a total of 2323 suspected cases from 21 states. Of these, 554 were confirmed positive, 15 probable and 1754 negative
- Since the onset of the 2019 outbreak, there have been 124 deaths in confirmed cases. The case fatality rate in confirmed cases is 22.4%.
- 合計 21 states (Edo, Ondo, Bauchi, Nasarawa, Ebonyi, Plateau, Taraba, FCT, Adamawa, Gombe, Kaduna, Kwara, Benue, Rivers, Kogi, Enugu, Imo, Delta, Oyo, Kebbi and Cross River) have recorded at least one confirmed case across 82 local government areas (LGAs) (Figure 1; see below and at source URL).
- 92% of all confirmed cases are from Edo (36%), Ondo (28%), Ebonyi (8%), Bauchi (8%), Taraba (7%) and Plateau (6%) states
