5月3日，同じような全身分布パターンの非典型的な潰瘍性皮膚病変のある 5人の男性患者が，大学病院・性感染症外来 Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Lisboa Central sexually transmitted infections (STI) outpatient clinic； the GAT-CheckpointLX, a community based STI clinic for men who have sex with men (MSM) を受診した。主に陰部に病変があり，白色で，中心部に痂皮を伴っていた。すべての病変が同じ病期を示していた。2例は躯幹と四肢に同じ特徴の紫斑を生じていたが，紫斑の数は全体で 20個以下だった。間擦部 the intertriginous areas の病変は潰瘍を伴うものもあり，患者は特にこの部分の痛みを訴えていた。
