AAV2 at high titer in blood or liver tissue と unexplained hepatitis in children infected in the recent AdV-F41 outbreak との関連性が示された。摘出肝において，電顕，免疫組織化学，および proteomics 上のウイルス粒子またはタンパク AdV or AAV2 viral particles or proteins が確認できなかったことから，肝での病原性はいずれかのウイルスの直接的な融解性感染 direct lytic infection によるものではない，ことが示唆された。これまで疾患との関係が確認されたことはないが，AAV2 が AdV-F41 and/or HHV6 と同時に感染したことが，原因不明の肝炎のアウトブレイクにつながった可能性について，さらなる調査が望まれる。
