The World Health Organization (WHO) から，初めてのエボラ治療ガイドライン 1st guideline for Ebola virus disease therapeutics が発行され，2種類のモノクローナル抗体の使用が新たに強く勧められる内容となっている。これまでは早期発見・診断と，電解質輸液や対症療法などの支持療法が示されていたが，治療に関する臨床試験のシステマティックレビューとメタアナリシスが行われ，WHO から以下のモノクローナル抗体治療が強く勧められている made strong recommendations for 2 monoclonal antibody treatments: mAb114 (Ansuvimab; Ebanga) and REGN-EB3 (Inmazeb) ... 高齢者，妊婦，授乳婦，小児，エボラの確定診断を受けた母親から生まれた生後 7日以内の新生児など，すべてのエボラウイルス疾患と診断された患者に使用可能とされている。

また，治療に用いないことが勧められる中和モノクローナル抗体: these include ZMapp and remdesivir も示されている。

2022年5月，郡保健当局 the Salt Lake County Health Department から 2例のサル痘確定診断例 real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-confirmed travel-associated cases of monkeypox が，ユタ州保健当局 the Utah Department of Health and Human Services (UDHHS) に報告された。2名は同居しており，他に同居者はいなかった。両者とも倦怠感などの前駆症状があった。発症から 8日後に patient A にペニスの病変が現れ，口唇，手足，胸部および頭部に拡大した。Patient B は onset of patient A の 8日後に前駆症状が現れ，足の病変が下肢と指に拡がった。複数の解剖領域ではあったが，全体の病変の数は少なく，"pimple-like ニキビ様" から潰瘍まで様々で，周囲との境界が明瞭で中心窩を伴っていた。いずれも軽症だった。発症から治癒までの期間は，およそ 30日間と 22日間だった。これらのサル痘患者が触れた自宅内の環境表面の汚染の有無と程度を評価する目的で，患者の自宅内の家具調度類 objects の拭き取りを行った。患者自身がよく触れる箇所 high-contact objects and surfaces を特定しサンプリングを行った。また発病中に消毒・清掃作業を行った部分も申告された。採取を行った時期は，患者らには症状が残っていた ...

Among the 30 specimens, 21 (70%) yielded positive real-time PCR results, including those from all 3 porous items (i.e., cloth furniture クロスで被われた家具？ and blankets 毛布), 17 of 25 (68%) nonporous surfaces (e.g., handles and switches 把手とスイッチ類), and one of 2 mixed surface types (i.e., chair 椅子) (Table).
