From 27 Mar 2022 to 31 Aug 2022 のアウトブレイクの 158日間に，the health zone of Rethy, located in Djugu territory, Ituri province, DR Congo 保健ゾーンからのペスト感染例 cases of plague の報告が続いている。合計 596例 suspected cases of plague が報告され，an attack rate of 0.23% with 8 deaths (case fatality rate 1.3%) である。これまでのところ，感染がもっとも深刻な地域は Lokpa with 78.4% of cases; followed by Uketha, 11.9%; and Rassia, 6.7% となっている。依然として腺ペスト The bubonic form が 581 cases, i.e., 97.5% と最も多く，4例ある肺ペスト pulmonary cases のうち 3例が 7月に報告されている。最多となる 59.3% の患者の病変部位 the buboes (axilla 腋窩, cervical 頚部, sub-maxilla 顎下) が，就寝中の感染を示している。患者の平均年齢は 17歳である。ピーク時の 1週間の報告数は 53例である。降雨が増して住居の消毒作業が妨げられ，住民らの住居内の齧歯類とノミの個体数は増加している。豪雨時には自宅内に留まらざるを得ないため，さらに感染リスクが高まる。

長崎市は 27日、マダニが媒介する「重症熱性血小板減少症候群（SFTS）」に、市内の 80代女性が感染し死亡したと発表した。県内で死亡が確認されたのは今年初めて。市地域保健課によると、女性は 15日に発熱や下痢などを発症。16日以降、複数の医療機関を受診し、入院。24日に死亡した。市保健環境試験所で検査した結果、25日にウイルスを検出した。ダニにかまれた痕があったが、かまれた経緯は不明という。同市内での感染は今年 3例目、県内では 4例目。同課は「草むらや、やぶなどに入る場合は長袖、長ズボンを着用して肌の露出を減らし、かまれたらすぐに医療機関を受診してほしい」と呼びかけている。
