周産期にサル痘ウイルスとアデノウイルスの重感染となった，生後 10日目の新生児について報告する。2022年4月後半に問題なく出産されたあと，9日目に発疹 a rash が出現した。初期は水疱 vesicular で，手掌と足底に出現したが，次第に顔面と躯幹に拡がり，徐々に膿疱 pustular に変化した。出産の 9日前に父親が発熱 had a febrile illness し，続いて広範囲の発疹を生じたが，児が出産される前に発疹は治癒していた。出産から 4日後に，母親に同様の発疹が認められた。この家族は英国に在住しており，アフリカへの渡航歴や渡航者との接触歴はなかった。生後15日目に低酸素生呼吸不全を発症したため，患児は地域の小児集中治療施設 the regional pediatric intensive care unit に搬送された。
