症例報告

生来健康な 20代男性が，10日前からの性器と顔面の痛みのない病変のため，皮膚科外来を受診した。当初，軽い倦怠感と発熱のない咽頭痛，頭痛，悪寒，リンパ節腫脹があったと述べていた。発症の 10日前の 1 new asymptomatic sexual male partner がいることを報告している。pre-exposure HIV prophylaxis として，毎日 emtricitabine/tenofovir daily を服用していた。受診前に，顔のおでき facial impetigo と考え mupirocin, 2% ointment を，コンジローマ condyloma のための imiquimod, 5% cream　を使用していた。診察時，性器部分の 2か所の中心窩と潰瘍のある丘疹 umbilicated and ulcerated, skin-colored papules と，顔面の a honey-colored crusted papule が認められた。

Polymerase chain reaction swab results were negative for herpes simplex virus and varicella-zoster virus. Results from the HIV and syphilis blood tests were negative. Subsequent polymerase chain reaction testing of each ulceration confirmed West African monkeypox virus ... Discussion
