The Viet Nam Ministry of Health reported today [3 Oct 2022] the 1st monkeypox case in the country in Ho Chi Minh City. According to state media, the patient is a 35-year-old woman who began showing symptoms on [18 Sep 2022] while traveling in Dubai (from July 2022 to 22 Sep 2022, to Viet Nam) -- fever and fatigue, chills, muscle aches, headache and cough, red, itchy spots on the arms, trunk, and face.

Jingmen tick virus (JMTV) は新たに発見されたダニ媒介性ウイルスで，ヒトに感染する可能性がある。世界の広い地域に分布し，公衆衛生上の深刻な脅威となるおそれがある。
Methods.
福建省 Nanping, Fujian Province, China の野生のイノシシから，2 tick species の 35匹のダニ ticks を採取し，qRT-PCR and nested PCR を用いて JMTV-specific genes ウイルス遺伝子の増幅を行って病原体を確認した。
Results.
1/3 of all ticks collected (11/35) が JMTV ウイルス陽性であった。3匹の陽性ダニから，全塩基配列を含む Viral sequences ウイルス遺伝子が得られた。硬ダニ the hard-bodied tick _Amblyomma testudinarium として初めての JMTV の確認となった。福建省のダニの JMTV 系統発生学的解析で，中国の他の地域の分離ウイルスと 90% 以上共通することが示されたが，フランスとコロンビアから報告されたものとは相違していた distinct 。
