Pidie District, Aceh で小児のポリオ感染例が発見 The discovery of cases of children suffering polio され，1例のみの確認であるが，2014年に a polio eradication certificate (polio-free Indonesia) を受けているため，保健当局 the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) が対応を開始した。Aceh で確認された症例は 7歳2か月の小児で，type 2 poliovirus に感染していた。左大腿と腓腹筋 thigh and calf muscles の萎縮が確認されている experienced wasting。海外渡航歴はなく，ポリオワクチンを受けていなかった。10月6日に発熱があり，同 10日に the Tgk Chik Ditiro Sigli Regional General Hospital (RSUD) を受診し，医師がポリオ感染を疑った。

ZIKV infection はまた，the recruitment of sterol regulatory element-binding protein (SREBP，ステロール制御因子結合タンパク) transcription factors（翻訳因子）の脂質遺伝子プロモーター lipid gene promoters 補充を促進し，一方で SREBP2 の薬理学的阻害もしくは遺伝子抑制（pharmacologic inhibition or genetic silencing of SREBP2）が，樹状細胞への ZIKV 感染に抑制的に働く suppresses ZIKV infection of DCs。

実験データから，a mechanism for promoting ZIKV infection amenable to therapeutic targeting として，SREBP2-activated transcription が示された。
