North Paravur in Ernakulam の食堂 an eatery で食事をした 106人が 1月16日に食中毒となり，サンプルからサルモネラ菌 Salmonella bacteria が検出された。Majlis Hotel ホテルの，マヨネーズ mayonnaise, 'al-fahm', 'manthi', 'peri-peri manthi' and mixed fried rice を口にした人々が罹患したと報告されている。感染した患者の多くが，生卵を使ったマヨネーズを食べていた。保健当局など the Health Department at the Government Medical College, Ernakulam による検査でサルモネラ菌が確認された。患者らには発熱，嘔吐，胃痛，下痢などの症状が認められている。

[Mod.TY－ 2023年の早い時期に 2例の感染が報告されたことから，これからの数か月間にさらなる感染が報告される可能性がある。2023年の 1例目の患者は，先週 Rajshahi でニパウイルス脳炎で死亡した 35歳女性である。バングラデシュから報告されるニパウイルス感染者数は年ごとに異なっている。2023年はすでに 3例だが，2022年は 3例，2021年はわずか 2例であり，2020年は 6例だった。ニパウイルスに関する以前の投稿で，感染の報告が少数または 0 の年は，自然界のウイルス保有宿主であるコウモリの集団内でのニパウイルス感染率の減少 a decline in the proportion of NiV-infected Indian flying fox bat [_Pteropus medius_] populations と，それに伴うコウモリ間の感染伝播の減少と，ヒトに対するウイルスの溢出事例 spillover の減少または消失を反映する，とされていた。the dynamics of NIV ウイルスの動態に関する研究では，コウモリ内でウイルスに対する十分な割合の免疫が確立されたときには感染伝播はほとんど起こらないが，この割合が閾値未満に低下するとコロニー全体での頻繁なウイルス感染伝播 subsequent significant virus transmission につながると結論づけられている。そして，感染のあるコウモリによりウイルスで汚染されたフルーツや palm sap（ヤシ樹液）を摂取したヒトが感染する状況となる。ヒトからヒトへの感染伝播も発生しうる。uncooked palm sap の摂取にニパウイルス感染のリスクがあることの周知も，患者の発生に影響する。
