2023年は麻疹 measles 感染者数は減少しているものの，北部 northern Kunduz province ではこの 10か月間におよそ 46人の子どもが麻疹感染により命を落としている。医師らはワクチン接種の不足が感染拡大の原因と述べている。the province 内では麻疹感染者数が前年同期に比べ 20% 減少し，この 10か月間に 1370例が記録され，うち 46人が死亡した。2022年は 1740例と死亡 61例だった。

デンマークの研究施設 Denmark's Statens Serum Institut (SSI) は，国内で A群連鎖球菌感染症 infection with group A streptococci と診断される症例が増え続け，例年のこの時期の正常域を超えるレベルに達していると報告した。さらに同菌が体内に拡散して敗血症などの重篤な状態となる invasive cases (iGAS，侵襲性感染例) が，この 1か月間に 3倍に増えたとされている。2022年11月は 22例であったところ，同 12月は 68例を記録した。通常 1月から3月にかけて最も多くなるが，1月にも多数の検査陽性例が確認されている。重症例の多くは 65歳を超える高齢者だが，5歳未満の小児においても少数例ながら侵襲性感染例が確認されている。iGAS の診断後 30日以内に死亡する症例の報告が増えているが，これは通常より多いというわけではない。海外では小児の死亡例が報告されているが，SSI では小児の間で死亡が増加していることを示す証拠は確認していない ...

イングランド北東部沿岸一帯 along England's north east coast において多数のカニやロブスターが死亡した背後にある原因について，専門家が新たな疾患以外の可能性はない it could be down to a new disease と述べたことで，さらに謎が深まっている。2021年秋に始まり 2022年には様々な場所で発生が繰り返されている大量死は，少なくとも 70km に及ぶ沿岸で発生し，一部の甲殻類は異常にねじれた形で死亡している showing an unusual twitching while dying。2021年5月に出された当局による初期調査報告では，自然発生した有毒藻類 harmful algal bloom が原因とされていた。しかし，the universities of York, Newcastle, and Durham and Hull 各大学の研究者らが行った the North East Fishing Collective (NEFC) による調査では，一般的な産業化学物質ピリジン pyridine が原因である可能性が高い a more probable cause とされている。
