REPEXH01 は志賀毒素産生大腸菌 a persistent strain of Shiga toxin-producing _Escherichia coli_ O157:H7 bacteria [also called enterohemorrhagic _E. coli_, EHEC 腸管出血性大腸菌] で米国内でアウトブレイクの原因となっている。
"persistent" とは，数年以上にわたって疾患の原因となっている細菌株 some strains of bacteria を表現する用語として CDC は用いている。経時的に疾患数に変化があったとしても，病原性 cause illness が維持されている菌株を指す。ときに複数の感染源と関連し対応がより困難となる。個の菌による疾患が初めて PulseNet で報告されたのは2017年である。通年発生するが，冬期はやや少ない。過去，the REPEXH01 strain は汚染された食品と contaminated recreational water を介して感染が拡大した。遺伝学上，比較的多様性を示し，within 21 allele differences of one another by whole-genome sequencing [WGS] ...

InBios' Active Anthrax Detect Plus Rapid Test for pulmonary anthrax（肺炭疽）は ... 約20分で結果が判明し，military personnel, medical and/or healthcare professionals only による使用が想定されている。
この in vitro immunochromatographic assay（免疫クロマトグラフィアッセイ）は，炭疽菌の致死的因子タンパク the _Bacillus anthracis_ lethal factor protein を視覚的・定性的に迅速に検出し，炭疽に一致する症状のある患者や暴露の可能性のある患者の，血清および静脈血全血 (dipotassium EDTA, sodium citrate and sodium heparin) で検査が可能である。
この検査による陽性結果 a positive Active Anthrax Detect Plus Rapid Test result は炭疽菌感染 _B. anthracis_ infection の暫定的な診断となり，病歴，症状，徴候，暴露の可能性，他の検査結果等を総合して診断する必要がある。
