2022年，北東部 Ituri province, in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) において合計638例のペスト感染例 cases of plague including 14 deaths が記録されたことが，the Epidemiological Surveillance Directorate of the General Directorate for Disease Control of the Ministry of Public Health, Hygiene, and Prevention sent to the ACP で6日報告された。Ituri のペスト感染流行の中心となったのは625例が報告された the health zone of Rethy で，ほか3例 [13?] が the health zone of Aru からの報告であったと説明されている。Ituri に常在する remains an endemic disease ペストの致死率は2.1%であった。Ituri は，2022年に国内でペスト感染が報告された唯一の地域 the only province であった。From 2020 to 2022 の期間に10 Ituri health zones がペスト感染例を報告していた。すなわち Biringi, Rethy, Aru, Aungba, Linga, Logo, Rimba, Kambala, Fataki, and Drodro health zones である。

Since [Fri 3 Mar 2023]，9例のボツリヌス症 cases of clinical botulism in Germany に，トルコにおいて行われた，胃（筋層内）へのボツリヌス神経毒の注射歴 a history of botulinum neurotoxin injections into the stomach in Turkey in the period from [22 to 25 Feb 2023] との関連が確認されている。このような医療処置の目的は，体重減少を期待してのことと考えられる。（女性8人と男性1人の）すべて成人の患者らが，イスタンブール Istanbul に滞在し，現地の同じ病院で治療を受けていた。Drug potency についても問題があったと思われる。症状は，食品由来のボツリヌス症 food-borne botulism と同等であった。一部の症例が the ICU への入院となったが，より軽症例もしくは緩徐に発症した症例は自覚せず，入院もしていない可能性がある。トルコ政府当局への通報を行っており，現在調査が行われている。ドイツの検査機関において確定診断が実施されているが，投与された法や投与量などの観点で，食中毒によるボツリヌス症と比べて困難となっている。ドイツ国内で長年行われてきたボツリヌス症サーベイランスにおいて，今回のような治療関連の事例は初めてのことである。

過敏性肺炎には急性と慢性の症状があり，急性症状はアレルゲンに近づいた数時間以内に現れ，数時間から数日間続く。一方，慢性症状はゆっくりと始まり時間をかけて悪化する。主な症状は，息切れ，乾性咳嗽，胸部圧迫感，悪寒，倦怠感，筋肉痛，慢性咳嗽，原因不明の体重減少などである。
診断は，症状と病歴といくつかの検査により，検査としてはアレルギー検査，画像診断，肺機能検査，気管支鏡などがある。
過敏性肺炎は不可逆性のため予防が第一であり，肺の炎症の原因となるアレルゲンへの暴露を避けることとなる。
