沖縄県で，発熱，発疹，咽頭痛のある40代男性のエムポックス Mpox 感染が報告された。男性には海外渡航歴はなかった。医療機関でのエムポックス検査が7日陽性となった。状態は安定している。沖縄県では初めての感染例である。2022年7月25日に日本で初めての感染例が東京で報告され，2022年の報告数は8例であったが，2023年は感染者数が増加し，4月4日現在95例の感染が報告されている。
