During 10 May 10-31 Dec 2022, mpox incidence among non-Hispanic Black or African American (Black) and Hispanic or Latino (Hispanic) males was higher than that among non-Hispanic White (White) males.

2023年3月17日、インドネシア共和国（以下、「インドネシア」という。）保健省は、西ジャワ（West Java）州プルワカルタ（Purwakarta）地区の急性弛緩性麻痺（以下、「AFP」という。）を発症した48カ月女児から、伝播型ワクチン由来ポリオウイルス2型（cVDPV2）が検出されたとWHOに通知した ... 新型の経口ポリオワクチン（OPV2）による2回の予防接種が計画され、従前の個人の接種状況にかかわらず、全ての5歳以下の子どもを対象とされている。1回目の接種は2023年4月に実施された。
発生の概要
2023年3月17日、インドネシア保健省は、西ジャワ州プルワカルタ地区の急性弛緩性麻痺（AFP）の48ヶ月の女児から伝播型ワクチン由来ポリオウイルス2型（cVDPV2）が検出されたとWHOに通知した。この患者は2023年2月16日に麻痺を発症した。この女児は経口ポリオワクチン（OPV）または不活化ポリオワクチン（IPV）の接種歴はなかった。2023年2月21日に便検体が採取され、2023年3月14日に伝播型ワクチン由来ポリオウイルス2型であることが確認された。ゲノム塩基配列決定の結果、この分離株はワクチン株から30～31個のヌクレオチドが変化を起こしていると判明した。全ゲノム塩基配列決定に関しては結果が待たれている。患者とその両親は、AFP発症前の1カ月間に旅行歴はなかったが、この間この家庭には他村からの親族を含む訪問者があった。
インドネシアでは、2022年11月以降、ワクチン由来ポリオウイルス2型の確定症例が計4件報告されており，この中にはアチェ（Aceh）州で急性弛緩性麻痺（AFP）を伴う伝播型ワクチン由来ポリオウイルス2型（cVDPV2）の3例、西ジャワ州での1例が含まれている。さらに2022年11月25日にはアチェ州の健康な小児4人が伝播型ワクチン由来ポリオウイルス2型であることが確認された。このポリオウイルスは2022年にアチェ州で報告された症例と同じ出現群のものであることが確認されたため、伝播型ワクチン由来ポリオウイルス2型に分類されたが、アチェ州のウイルスとは異なっており、見逃し感染の可能性が示唆される。
西ジャワ州における2018年から2022年の二価経口ポリオワクチン（bOPV4）の接種率は88％から102％、不活化ポリオワクチン（IPV）の接種率は26％から106％であった。西ジャワ州の接種を逃した方のための接種（キャッチアップ接種） キャンペーンでも、二価経口ポリオワクチンと不活化ポリオワクチンの接種率は90%を超えていた。プルワカルタ地区における2価経口ポリオワクチンの接種率は、2018年から2022年にかけて一貫して高く、2020年の94％から2021年の104％に達している。一方、不活化ポリオワクチンの接種率は2020年に26％に低下した後、2021年に80％に上昇し、2022年に100％に達した。
しかし、西ジャワ州では、2価経口ポリオワクチンと不活化ポリオワクチンのいずれも接種していない子どもたちが一部残っている。これは主に、保護者による予防接種の重要性の理解不足、ワクチンの安全性に対する懸念（予防接種後の発熱、複数回の注射が必要となること、その他の誤った情報源など）と宗教的信念に関連している。

ウイルスが確認されたのは，Bujumbura Rural province のワクチンを1度も接種していない急性弛緩性麻痺 acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) の4歳男児と，2022年11月と12月に採取された 5 cVDPV2-positive environmental samples from Bujumbura Mairie province であった。患児は2022年11月24日に麻痺を発症し，同27日に採取された便検体について2023年3月13日に cVDPV2 が確認された。ウイルス遺伝子塩基配列解析の結果，8 to 10 か所の核酸変化 nucleotide changes を受けていることが示された。分離されたウイルスはすべて，コンゴ民主共和国 Sud-Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) のウイルス cVDPV2 の新興との関連性が認められている。
全国のワクチン接種率 the WHO UNICEF estimates of national immunization coverage によると，ブルンジ国内の経口および不活化ワクチン接種率 the coverage for both the oral poliovirus vaccine 3rd dose (OPV3) and inactivated poliovirus vaccine 1st dose (IPV1) はともに94%と推定されている。しかし，この患児 the index case が報告された地域の医療センター the Health Centre of Gatumba の接種率はそれぞれ，the coverage of OPV3 and IPV1 was 63.4% and 56.6%, respectively であった。
