ベトナムにおけるボツリヌス症患者の効果的な患者管理を支援するため，The World Health Organization (WHO) はボツリヌス中毒 botulinum poisoning の治療薬である抗毒素 BAT (botulism antitoxin) の信頼できる提供先を探す努力を行っている。5月13日以降，Thu Duc City では少なくとも6人の患者が報告された。5人は屋台の豚肉パン bread with pork bologna (gio lua) により食中毒を発症した。一方，45歳の患者は発効魚醤 fermented fish sauce の摂取後に入院となった。小児3名はホーチミン第2小児病院 Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City's Children's Hospital 2 で BAT を受け現在状態は安定している。しかし残る3人の患者はベトナム国内に BAT がなく今も治療中である。

Afghanistan reports 3rd polio case of 2023

アフガニスタン国内で2023年3例目のポリオ the 3rd case of the poliovirus of 2023 が Nangarhar province において当局により確認された。the Nazyan district of Nangarhar province では，生後30か月男児の症例が報告されている。3例はすべて the province of Nangarhar から報告された。東部にあるこの地域，とりわけ Nangarhar province では，複数の環境検体についても野生株1型ウイルスが確認 some WPV1-positive environmental samples されたと保健省から報告されていた。
ポリオ症例が報告された The Nazyan district location は衛生事情が悪く，遊び回るこどもらに容易にポリオウイルスの感染が生じる ... ワクチン接種および個人と環境の衛生遵守によってのみ，ポリオウイルス感染から身を守ることが可能となる。
国内で2023年初となる5月13日の症例は，the Nangarhar province の4歳児だった。アフガニスタンでは，2020年56例，2021年は4例，2022年は2例が報告されている。

West Nile virus discovered in mosquitos in southern Israel

near the southern city of Yeruham and surrounding Ramat Negev Regional Council において，ウエストナイルウイルス West Nile virus を保有する蚊族が発見されたと発表し，イスラエルでは2023年初めての報告となった。The Environmental Protection Ministry によると，mosquitos infected with the virus が発見されたのは Nahal Revivim, near Lake Yeruham, and outside the educational centers of Nitzana and Midreshet Ben Gurion である。
