先週、53歳女性の新たな類鼻疽感染例 a new melioidosis case が確認されたと、保健当局 The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) が6月30日に明らかにした。Sham Shui Po 在住のこの女性は、糖尿病と慢性肝疾患などの持病があった。6月25日に発熱と腰痛を訴え、翌日に下痢を発症したため救急外来 the Accident and Emergency Department of Queen Mary Hospital を受診し同日入院となった。血液検査で類鼻疽菌 _Burkholderia pseudomallei が陽性となり、2023年の同市内で7例目の類鼻疽患者と確認された。現在状態は落ち着いている。
2022年、46例の類鼻疽感染が記録されている。

6月11日、保健省 the Ministry of Health (MOH) から黄熱感染例 one confirmed case of yellow fever in Oussouye health district in Ziguinchor region が報告された。発熱、腹痛、出血症状で地域病菌 the district hospital, Oussouye を受診した11歳男児で、セネガル・パスツール研究所 Institut Pasteur, Senegal の確定検査で黄熱陽性が確認された。最後にセネガルで黄熱が確認されたのは December 2020 with 7 confirmed cases and no deaths from 3 regions: Matam region (1), Kedougou region (2), and Tambaccounda region (4) であった。
