Abstract
Long COVID or post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 (PASC) の原因として、持続性の炎症反応 persistent inflammation, 修復されていない組織障害 unresolved tissue damage, or ウイルスタンパクまたは遺伝子の排除遅延 delayed clearance of viral protein or RNA などが述べられているが、認められる生物学的相違 the biological differences の理解は進んでいない。
今回、急性感染から60日以上持続する症状のある 55 名の患者 PASC individuals から経時的に採取した検体内の the serum proteome について、SARS-CoV-2 感染後症状が消失した患者および未感染例の検体と比較検討した。
解析により、患者間の不均一性 heterogeneity in PASC が示され、持続性炎症の特徴 distinct signatures を有する subsets を特定した。
Type II interferon signaling and canonical NF-κB signaling (particularly associated with TNF), appear to be the most differentially enriched signaling pathways, distinguishing a group of patients characterized also by a persistent neutrophil activation signature.
