Bali から帰国した2名の旅行者の麻疹感染が最近報告されたことを受け、州保健当局 New South Wales (NSW Health) officials が海外への旅行者らに対し、出国前に麻疹ワクチンを完了するよう呼びかけている。麻疹はオーストラリアではまれであるが、インドネシア、インド、フィリピン、パキスタン、タイなどの人気の渡航先など世界各地では一般的な疾患となっている。中東、アフリカや欧州の一部、英国なども麻疹感染リスクが高いと考えられている。
