10月7日、男性1名と女性1名が大学病院救急室 the emergency department of the Reims University Hospital を受診し、2名はともに数週間前に北アフリカでネコによりけがをしていた。入院直後に、女性が狂犬病を疑う症状 presented clinical signs compatible with a suspected diagnosis of rabies. を発症した。集中治療が行われたが、9日この患者は死亡した。症状のなかった男性には暴露後予防接種が行われ観察されており、現在退院している。
The Institut Pasteur, which is the National Reference Centre for Rabies (CNRR) and the only body authorised to make the diagnosis, confirmed the diagnosis of rabies on Wednesday [11 Oct 2023].

Chad で初めてのデング熱アウトブレイク its 1st dengue outbreak が報告された。過去、チクングニア熱や黄熱など他のアルボウイルスのアウトブレイクは発生していたと、16日 the World Health Organization (WHO) が明らかにした。保健当局 The country's health ministry は8月15日にアウトブレイクを宣言し、これまでに 1342例 suspected cases が報告した。このうち41例が検査で確定診断され、確定例の中で1例の死亡が報告されている。

5月以降に298 confirmed cases が確認されているウエストナイルウイルス感染 West Nile virus infections に関する保健当局 The ISS [Istituto Superiore di Sanità; Higher Institute of Health] の報告が発行された。同時に7例の Usutu virus infections も報告されている、高温の影響でウエストナイルウイルス感染例の増加が続いており、前回報告から15例増加した。
Of the 298 human cases, 172 manifested in the neuro-invasive form, 65 were identified in blood donors and 61 manifested with fever.
