TBE vaccination is recommended for anyone visiting TBE affected areas whose activities put them at increased risk:
- living in TBE risk areas
- working in forestry, woodcutting, farming and the military
- visiting forests, woods, grasslands and urban parks; camping, fieldwork, hiking and hunting
- laboratory workers who may be exposed to TBE

テキサス Texas 州の健康だった女性が、ペットのネコから感染した細菌感染症により数ヶ月にわたる下痢 violent diarrhea に苦しめられた。Houston の31歳のこの女性は、クロストリジウム菌 _Clostridioides difficile_ の感染症と診断された。治療開始後2ヶ月が経過しても症状が治まらないため医師らがさらに詳しい調査をおこなった結果、発症の約1ヶ月前にのらネコを飼い始めていたことが判明したため、この動物の検査を行うことを決めた。理論上、動物からヒトに感染することはあり得るが、証明されたことはない。女性とネコのスワブ検体で、同一の菌 the same strains of _C. difficile であることが判明した。ネコには症状はみられなかった。
The case was revealed in the American Journal of Case Reports, with doctors warning it was a reminder of the risks posed by household pets.

Romania has reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza, commonly called bird flu, among poultry in the south of the country, the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) said on Friday [27 Oct 2023].
The virus was detected in a flock of 120 backyard poultry（庭先飼育の家きん）in the village of Tiganesti near the border with Bulgaria, causing the death of 28 birds, the Paris-based WOAH said, citing a report from the Romanian authorities.
