Description of the crisis
2023年，ナイジェリアで多数の小児が感染し死亡したジフテリアアウトブレイク the outbreak of diphtheria は，大きな公衆衛生上の問題 the biggest public health concern となっており，このアウトブレイクが発生したのは2022年12月に Kano State から始まり，Lagos and Osun などの周りの地域に拡がった。2011年に発生した前のアウトブレイクのあと，10年間で最も深刻な状況とされている。
As of December 2023, over 13 000 confirmed cases have already been reported across approximately 20 states with majority of people affected being children.

Kyrgyzstan records 14 000 new hepatitis cases
14 000 new cases of various types of hepatitis have been recorded in Kyrgyzstan, Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said at a meeting of the Parliament on 17 Jan 2024. According to him, 60% of cases are among adults, 40% are among children.

Laboratory Evaluation: 3人の患者の皮膚スワブ検体すべてで緑膿菌 _P. aeruginosa_ が確認された; the isolates of the 2 family members were sent to Maine's Health and Environmental Testing: Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) analysis, using CLC-BIO (version 23.0.2; Qiagen Aarhus), indicated that the 2 isolates were highly related with a 2-SNP difference, suggesting a common exposure（共通の曝露源）。
