インドの学校 an ashram [a spiritual hermitage or a monastery in Indian religions] school in India で100人を超える生徒らが食中毒とみられる症状を発症したが，現在は危機を脱している。Sant Gadgebaba ashram school at Bhatsai, about 64 km [~40 mi] from Thane city にある，the tribal development department in Shahapur tehsil [a local unit of administrative division in Thane district in Maharashtra state] が設立したこの学校から1月31日に警察に通報された。当初25-30人の生徒が，胃痛，嘔吐，下痢の症状を訴えた。寄付された昼食 pulao and gulab jamuns [sweet confectionary or dessert] を食べたあとに発症し，その後109人に増えた。全員が the government hospital at Shahapur に入院した。

もっとも深刻な地域は Bilitwin area で，the period from 1-14 Jan 2024, when 980 cases of cholera were notified compared with 472 cholera cases reported during the same period in 2022 に明らかになった。

Finnish officials investigate hepatitis E rise
1月，フィンランド国内で E型肝炎の増加 A spike in hepatitis E infections が記録され，保健当局 The National Institute of Health and Welfare (THL) が原因調査を行っている。
2024年1月に，国内各地で19人が E型肝炎に感染した。2023年の同時期に the Infectious Disease Register に報告されたのはわずか1例だった。6例について聞き取りが行われたが，共通の特異因子は確認されていない。毎年報告される E型肝炎症例数は20-60例で，2023年は30例だった。
