Nigeria has recorded 10 cases of Lassa fever across 4 states in one week, spanning 20 to 26 May 2024. 前週は4例だった。
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) revealed this in its latest Lassa fever situation report for week 21.
Cumulatively, Nigeria has recorded 897 confirmed cases and 162 deaths in 2024 with a case fatality rate (CFR) of 18.1%, which is higher than the CFR for the same period in 2023 (17.1%).

疫学的注意喚起が出されてから3ヶ月間に、Tlaxcala において5例のギランバレー症候群に伴う急性弛緩性麻痺による死亡例 deaths from acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) associated with Guillain-Barré syndrome が確認されている。同症候群は、感染症、変性疾患、自己免疫不全、鉛中毒、重金属、薬剤、殺虫剤など様々な原因による筋力低下である。
最新のデータでは、95例 accumulated cases of AFP が、フルーツ、野菜、調理不十分なチキンに含まれることがある、細菌のカンピロバクターに関係して related to the bacterium _Campylobacter jejuni_ 確認されている。5月31日の報告で、6人が入院中であるが、84人は回復し退院したと述べられている。
2024年3月4日に the AFP and Guillain-Barré syndrome alert upon detecting an increase in confirmed cases が発出され、同16日に初めての死亡例が発生している。
