州内では深刻なレプトスピラ症アウトブレイク a severe outbreak of leptospirosis, or rat fever が発生しており，2024年はかつてない死者数を記録している。121例の死亡が確認されているうえ，102例についても疾患との関連が疑われている。
ケララ州 Kerala において感染増加 a surge in the rate of fever cases があり，18 deaths in June, 27 in July, and 23 till 21 Aug [2024] が確認されている。
今年，累計1916例 affected individuals and 1565 suspected cases が確認されており，過去最高 the highest ever recorded となっている。
2023年は831 cases and 39 deaths last year [2023], and 2482 cases and 121 deaths in 2022

先週 last week [week of 11 Aug 2024] ホーチミン市 Ho Chi Minh City において100例を超える麻疹が疑われる発疹患者 cases of suspected measles rash が確認され，過去4週間の平均の2倍となったとして，保健当局 the health sector は直ちにワクチン接種の検討を行っている urgently reviewing vaccination。
22日の会見で市疾病対策センター長 director of the Ho Chi Minh CDC は，先週の患者の 23% of measles cases last week werNguyen が生後9か月未満の乳児，57% が生後9か月から5歳までの乳幼児であったと明らかにした。年初以降，市内で353例の麻疹が確認されているが，2021年から2023年までに検査で確認された患者はわずか1例のみだった。

USDA to require avian influenza testing at slaughter plants
2024年3月に野鳥から乳牛に伝播されたあと，高病原性鳥インフルエンザウイルス Highly pathogenic avian influenza への不安が続いている。発生中のアウトブレイクに対して国農務省 the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced on は13日，処分される乳牛に焦点をあてた精肉工場での鳥インフルエンザ検査数を増やすことを発表した。9月以降から，年内は実施される予定である。
