エアロゾルとして吸入されることが多いレジオネラ菌 the genus _Legionella を原因とする疾患は、2024年5月23日までに53例のレジオネラ肺炎 reported cases of Legionnaires' disease in Slovakia が報告されている。16例のポンティアック熱 cases of Pontiac fever も報告されていると、the communication department of the Office of Public Health (ÚVZ) of the Slovak Republic が明らかにした。
2018年以降、the form of Legionnaires' disease or Pontiac fever の形をとるレジオネラ症については、徐々に増加が続いていたが2023年は減少した。
2 forms, Pontiac fever (a mild illness without pneumonia) or Legionnaires' disease (a life-threatening pneumonia) がある。

Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Detected in Van Buren County Dairy Herd
Today [26 Aug 2024], Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) Director Tim Boring announced the detection of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in a dairy herd from Van Buren County, bringing the total number of affected dairy herds in Michigan to 28. Testing through the Michigan State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory initially detected this case. Samples have been sent to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Veterinary Services Laboratories for additional confirmatory testing.
