最悪のケースでは、壊死性筋膜炎 necrotizing fasciitis となる。
全米では毎年 Between 700 and 1150 cases of necrotizing fasciitis の診断例があり、5例に1例が死亡する。

まれな型のサルモネラ菌 A rare serotype of _Salmonella_ により、デンマークとオーストリア 20 people in Denmark and 17 in Austria で患者が発生している。
2024年7月以降、デンマークの研究所 the Danish Statens Serum Institut (SSI) で20例のサルモネラ感染症例 cases of _Salmonella [enterica_ serotype] Umbilo が確認されている。患者は男性14人と女性6人で、年齢は1歳未満から85歳までで中央値は52歳である。
[A total of] 9 cases live in Midtjylland, 6 in Syddanmark, 3 in Nordjylland, and 2 in Hovedstaden. Patients were reported in July, August, and September.
オーストリア Austria has also reported 17 cases of _Salmonella_ Umbilo, which have been linked to rocket [arugula] salad from Italy（イタリアのロケットサラダ）.
_Salmonella_ Umbilo is a rare serotype that has not been seen in Denmark since 2017, until the current incident. _Salmonella_ was the top cause of outbreaks in Denmark in 2023, with 18. The number of cases also increased to 1207 from 899 in 2022.

The Falkland Islands Director of Natural Resources has released the following, "On Monday, 16 September 2024, swabs that were taken from a dead Gentoo penguin on Surf Bay were tested and returned positive for HPAI. Given that this is an isolated case of one single bird, that is more than 1 km from poultry or a colony, a level 1 response will be followed and a full protection zone will not be declared."

It is estimated that around 23 000 sheep and 36 000 cattle have died from catarrhal fever, also known as bluetongue disease, since the virus first appeared in Belgium, according to figures released by Federal Minister of Agriculture David Clarinval on Thursday [19 Sep 2024] in a plenary session of the House.
Since May [2024], however, there have been 3 different vaccines. These have been granted provisional authorisation. One million doses are available and 150 000 have already been registered in the Sanitel database, the management system for the identification, registration and monitoring of animals.
