the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune 研究所で確認された、新種のチクングニア A new variant of chikungunya は、急速な拡大と重症化への懸念が高まっている。地域内の病院 Hospitals in Nagpur [district in Maharashtra state] は both dengue and chikungunya, 2 mosquito-borne illnesses transmitted primarily by _Aedes_ mosquitoes の患者で溢れかえっている。
2024年1月以降 Nagpur で2873例のデング熱 cases of dengue と3556例のチクングニア cases of chikungunya が確認されている。デング熱は年間を通じて常に増加が続いているが、チクングニアの患者のピークは 82 initial cases が発生した2024年6月であった。

Epidemiological update -- Yellow fever in the Americas region
Summary of the situation
Between epidemiological week (EW) 1 and EW 35 of 2024 の期間内に、38例の黄熱 confirmed cases of yellow fever in the Americas Region, including 19 deaths が確認された。7月29日の報告以降、5 cases (3 in the Plurinational State of Bolivia、ボリビア and 2 in Peru、ペルー) and 2 deaths (in Peru、ペルー) の増加があった。
The 38 cases が報告されたのは5 countries in the Region: ボリビア Bolivia (7 cases, including 3 deaths), ブラジル Brazil (3 cases, including 2 deaths), コロンビア Colombia (8 cases, including 5 deaths), ガイアナ Guyana (2 cases), and ペルー Peru (18 cases, including 9 deaths) である。
Cases were reported mainly throughout the Amazon region of Bolivia, Peru, Brazil, Colombia, and Guyana (Figure 1).
