The Yobe State Government 州当局が、Gujba Local Government Area における急性下痢症 acute diarrhoea による4人の死亡を確認したと、保健当局者 The Commissioner for Health が16日明らかにした。発生があったのは Jangalawaji and Tadandara settlements in Gujba Ward で、いずれの地域も最近洪水の被害を受けている。
コレラの発生 an outbreak of cholera in the Gujba and Ngelzarma は否定されており、検査結果を待っていると説明されている。

India reports imported clade 1b mpox case
インドから、clade Ib エムポックス輸入感染例 an imported clade 1b mpox case が報告され、アフリカ以外では3か国目の新たなウイルス株 the novel clade 感染確認となった。患者は Malappuram district in India's Kerala state の38歳の男性で、アラブ首長国連合 the United Arab Emirates からの帰国者だったと、インド保健当局の広報担当者が23日に明らかにした。州内の大学病院に入院しており、27人の接触者と、37人の航空機の搭乗客らが監視対象となっているが症状は認められていない。

Botulism: Two Brazilians die after eating chicken mortadella
Bahia 州で chicken mortadella を食べた2人がボツリヌス食中毒 botulism に死亡した。州保健当局 the State Health Department (SESAB) によると、まれな病気でヒトからヒトに感染することはないが、国内で6 cases が報告されている。ボツリヌス菌 the bacterium _Clostridium botulinum_ が産生する強力なトキシン a potent toxin の作用による疾患で、2024年に5例が確認され、1例について調査が行われている。
The 2 deaths が発生したのは Salvador and Campo Formoso, a city located in the north-central part of the state of Bahia で、Campo Formoso は確認された症例のうちの4例が集中して発生する地域である。もう1例は Senhor do Bonfim で発生している。
[Mod.LL－ Classical mortadella は，イタリアのボローニア Bologna, Italy 発祥の an emulsified sausage（乳化ソーセージ）で，一般に cured pork with at least 15% pork fat cubes（豚脂）and whole or chopped pistachios（ピスタチオ）, and spiced with black pepper and myrtle berries（ベリー）で作られるが，チキンが使われることもある。
The extra fat content gives mortadella its signature white "polka dot" look.

2015年以来となるニューヨーク州での東部ウマ脳炎による死亡例 the first human case of eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) in New York が発生したことを受け、23日に知事が州全体の対策を実施すると発表した。Ulster County で20日確認された。
ヒトに使用できる東部ウマ脳炎ワクチンはない。

台湾で先週 [week of 15 Sep 2024], 14万6558例の下痢症患者 diarrhea cases が報告され、the Mid-Autumn Festival の時期と一致していたと、保健当局 the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) が24日明らかにした。from 15 to 21 Sep 2024 に下痢症状のため救急室を受診した患者数は、前週と比べ5.7％ 増加し、この時期としては過去5年間で最も多かったと説明されている。過去4週間に123件の下痢症クラスターも発生している。
9月17日の the Mid-Autumn Festival のあと下痢症患者の増加があり、今後1週間増加が続くとみられている。10月はじめにピークとなりその後減少すると思われると説明されている。台湾の人々が集まり、バーベキューを楽しむこの休暇前に、保健当局が注意を呼びかけていた。
一方、1万6253 visits がエンテロウイルス enterovirus により救急室を受診したと先週報告された。前週 [week of 8 Sep 2024] から9.4% 増加した。このうち、コクサッキーウイルス the Coxsackievirus A10 strain and A16 strain が最も多く認められた。5例に重症の合併症が報告されており、うち3例に the Coxsackievirus A2 strain、2 related to the Coxsackievirus A10 strain に関係していた。
Four of 5 such severe cases were in infants under 1 year old, CDC data showed.

わずか1週間のあいだに、Udupi district から11例のコレラ感染 cases of cholera が報告された。先週、このうち5例が Idu Primary Health Center in Karkala が確認されたと報告され、Additional cases of vomiting and diarrhoea in Malpe, Shirva, Kaup, and Kemmannu have been confirmed as cholera.
